Top 3 Movies

I decided to choose my top 3 favourite movies of all time.

Criteria: I am judging these movies on their storyline, characters or actors, the entertainment value and how the film ends.

1. Wanted - This is one action packed film about an office worker who finds out that he is the son of a professional assassin and now has the choice to choose his own destiny. He is sick of his boring life and ends up training to be an assassin. The storyline attracted me because it makes me want to do something crazy in my life instead of living each day sitting at home wasting my time. Actor James McAvoy did a fabulous job of portraying a character who changed from a lousy so called "nobody" into a fearless assassin. The entertainment value is outstanding because there is non stop action that won't leave you unsatisfied. The ending of the film is definitely top-notch. It ends off by leaving you with the question what are you doing with your life? The excitement will leave you eager and psyched to get out and do something.

2. Blood Diamond - This movie is heartbreaking yet inspirational to many. It shows a country torn apart and at war between the rebel forces and government soldiers. The setting caught my attention because Africa is so different from Canada and the storyline reveals information about child soldiers and the exporting of goods from Africa. It also tells the story of an impoverished African family who are torn apart but eventually find a way back to each other. Actor Djimon Hounsou and Kagiso Kuypers did an exceptional job playing the father and son that were wrenched apart from each other. Leonardo DiCaprio also did a magnificent job in this film and was nominated for best actor. The entertainment value was tremendous; keeping you on your toes the whole film. The ending was also great because it leaves people with more knowledge on diamonds mined in African war zones.

3. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - Absolutely one of my favourite movies that has won many awards such as 5 Oscars. Jack Nicholson is a remarkable actor and in this film he really fits the role of acting like a crazy person. He was sent to a mental asylum for pretending to be insane while trying to get out of prison. The storyline is exciting and fun to watch and it shows what its like being stuck in a mental institution! Also there is lots of entertainment with the fellow patients that Jack Nicholson becomes friends with while he is in the institution. The ending is sad but overall this movie is superb and i recommend that you check it out!
